Fair play
A contest only means something if every player can trust the rankings. This page explains how Capy Arena checks ranked scores. It is written for players, so it leaves out details that would only help someone trying to cheat.
The same course for everyone
On each contest day, every player in a game gets the same course. Nobody gets an easier layout, so a high score reflects how well you played, not a lucky draw.
Your run is replayed on our server
During a ranked run, the game keeps a record of your inputs: each hop, tap, swipe or key press and the moment it happened. When you submit, that record goes to our server, which plays the same course again with exactly those inputs, using the same game rules your browser used. The score the server reaches is the one that counts. If the replay doesn't reach the submitted score, the score is held and reviewed by a person before it can count or win anything. Changing the number in your browser or editing the record won't win you anything.
Scores are locked when a run ends
Each ranked run belongs to a session the server opens for it, and the score is locked as soon as the run ends. A locked score can't be swapped for a different one later, and a run can only be submitted once.
Leaving in the middle of a run
Once a ranked run has started, switching tabs or putting the app in the background for more than two seconds ends the run, and the score you had at that moment is what counts. Pausing would give an unfair advantage, so there is no pause in ranked play. Practice runs have no such limit.
One entry per contest
Each player may enter each contest only once, and using several wallets to get extra entries is against the rules. So is using bots, scripts or modified game clients, or submitting a score you didn't earn by playing.
Checked again before prizes
After a contest closes, results are checked again before any prize is sent, partly automatically and with human review. If we find cheating, we may void scores, withhold or reclaim prizes, and ban wallets, as set out in our Terms. We don't publish the exact checks, because that would help the people they're meant to stop.
